I established this blog to comment on Investing, the Financial Markets, and the Economy for the purposes of making notes to myself and educating novice investors. Other subjects may include politics, current events, social matters, and anything else rattling in my brain.
I am a father to Nathan and Nicole and a husband to Helen. My interests include traveling (I’ve set foot in all 50 states), camping, hiking, bicycling, history, and science.
My profession is investment management. I am currently serving as Chief Investment Officer at Yosemite Capital Management, a Registered Investment Advisor for individual and institutional clients in Tustin, CA, where I have been employed since 2005. Before that I had served as a Senior Equity Analyst at another firm where I had been employed since 1992. I have taught beginning and advanced investment courses at UC Irvine Extension and Concordia University and was an expert witness in several cases involving different aspects of investing. My previous career was as an engineer in the medical device and aerospace industries.
I have earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, passed the Series 65 Exam, received an MBA from Pepperdine University, and received a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel University.
A native of Pennsylvania, I reside in Tustin, CA.
